Basierend auf der Idee, dass die “Realität eine ambivalente Struktur ist, eine mentale Grenze zwischen Dingen, eine undefinierte Linie zwischen konkreter und flüchtiger Materialität und dem Unsichtbaren” kommuniziert Stéphane C. universale Themen von einem fotografischen Standpunkt aus. Er benutzt die Fotografie als sein Werkzeug, um auf eine poetische Art und Weise den Kampf der menschlichen Seele zwischen Kontemplation und der ungezügelten Unzufriedenheit aufzuzeigen.

Stéphanes C.’s fotografische Arbeit kreist von Anfang an um ein großes Projekt: Eine fortwährende Recherche seiner eigenen unmittelbaren Umwelt. Durch das Beobachten und Festhalten seines Leben und der Menschen, die ihn umgeben, versucht er den Schleier der Unsicherheit der menschlichen Existenz zu lüften, um so seinem Leben dem Erlebten eine Bedeutung zu geben.

Er arbeitet fortwährend und passioniert an seiner Idee, Licht ins Dunkle zu bringen und seine instinktiven Erfahrungen in seiner Fotografie wiederzuspiegeln.

Stèphane C.´s (*1976 in Lyon), Arbeiten waren bereits in verschiedenen internationalen Ausstellungen zu sehen unter anderem in der Galerie du Château d’Eau Toulouse, Museum Encontros Da Imagem Festival (Braga), KBB Barcelona, Galerie Du 59 Rivoli (Paris), außerdem wurde Stèphane C. 2012 in dem Buch „Mono“ Most talented contemporary b&w photographers (Gomma Books, UK), veröffentlicht. Er lebt und arbeitet zur Zeit in Paris.

Stèphane C. communicates immediate world issues from a photographic point of view based on the idea that, „reality is an ambivalent structure, a mental frontier between things, an undefined border separating concrete and elusive fields of materiality and the invisible.“ He uses photography as a means to describe poetically, the human soul’s inner struggle between contemplation and an untamed discontent.

Stèphane C.’s photographic work has remained focused on one project – an ongoing „research“ of his environment, his life and the people surrounding him, through which he seeks to lift the veil of uncertainty within human existence in an attempt to make sense of his lived experience. For Stèphane, photography holds the key to revealing what lies beneath the fragmented and vague shadows of his vision/his reality. Stèphane works constantly and passionately to bring light to peripheral darkness and to mirror what he experiences instinctually.

Stèphane C. photographs continuously, setting up a daily rhythm in order to capture as much as possible of the world – night and day, day and night.

Stèphane C. (1976 – Lyon), has been exhibited / projected at Galerie du Château d’Eau Toulouse, Museum Encontros Da Imagem Festival (Braga), KBB Barcelona, Galerie Du 59 Rivoli (Paris) among many others places he also was most recently published in Mono, „a collection of the most talented contemporary b&w photographers“ published by Gomma Books in the UK. He currently lives and works in Paris.
