Motivisch bildet die Natur das Thema der gegenwärtigen Serie von Amira Fritz‘ Fotografien
– Füchse, Bäume und ein off-road Motorrad sind zu sehen.
Wie in vielen Arbeiten zuvor konzentriert sich die Künstlerin auf den
fotografischen Entwicklungsprozess. In der Dunkelkammer fertigt sie Unikate an. Die Bilder der Serie HEARTLAND sind das Produkt einer Belichtung
mittels eines Laptop-Screens, eine Art Fotogramm.
Die Belichtung durch den Bildschirm resultiert in einem feurigen Schwarz-Rot Kontrast.
Motorrad und Baum sind mittels Zoomfunktion in Fragmente zersplittert. Die nebeneinander an die Wand gehefteten Abzüge des Mottorradbildes reproduzieren im physischen
Raum den imaginären Raum des Screens. Jedes der losen Blätter ist eine Bergung aus diesem virtuellen Kontinuum, worin das Bild in unendlich viele Einzelaspekte zerfallen ist.
Der virtuelle Raum ist in die Form des Tafelbildes übersetzt. Im intimen Blick des Fuchses im Moment des Zusammentreffens mit dem Menschen zeitigt sich eine Grenzüberschreitung paralleler Dimensionen.
Der menschliche Blick und der Blick des Fuchses zurück zeigen ein plötzliches, aus Urtiefen aufblitzendes Zusammentreffen sich fremder Willen. Von einem „Aussen“ bricht eine unvorhersehbare Plötzlichkeit
ins gewohnte Raum-Zeit Kontinuum ein. Die sich wie Flammenzungen emporstreckenden Bäume zeigen einen Tiefenraum unerreichbarer Ferne: Im Vergrössern mittels Berührung des Screens entziehen sich die Baumwipfel
erst recht in uneinholbare Distanz. Die nur als Unikate existierenden Fotos sind Zugriffe auf etwas sich immer Verbergendes. Ein Aufscheinen aus einem uns dunkel und fremd umgebenden Realen.
Das Unbekannte und Fremde der Natur, die auch mit der Geschwindigkeit des off-road Motorrads nicht eingeholt werden kann, bleibt überall aspekthaft. Ein unbeugsames, unbergbares und unbegehbares Kontinuum,
Fetzen des Realen, entbergen sich dunkel hinter diesen Bildern. Der Screen ist aufgerissen, ist in einzelne, unwiederholbare Momente aufgebrochen. Die Dunkelkammer bewohnt Amira Fritz einer Alchemistin gleich:
An diesem Ursprungsort der Bilder – in dessen Dunkelheit sie mitunter tagelang ausharrt – schafft die Künstlerin ein neues Staunen über ein Jenseits von Kamera und Screen.

Nature is the motif in Amira Fritz’s current series; foxes, trees and an off-road motorcycle. As in her previous work, the artist is honing in on the photographic process itself. Her darkroom productions are unique copies.
The body of work named HEARTLAND is the result of a photographic exposure with the help of a laptop screen, a photogram of sorts. The exposure with the means of the screen creates a fiery contrast of red and black.
The motorbike and the tree have been shattered into fragments through the use of the zoom. The prints of the motorbike on the wall physically reproduce the screen’s imaginary space. Each of the loose prints represents a piece of this virtual continuum salvaged,
in which the image disintegrates into an infinite amount of individual frames. Virtual space has been translated into the shape of the panel. The fox’s gaze upon meeting man illustrates the transcendence of the boundaries in parallel dimensions. The human gaze
and the animal’s represent a clash of wills emanating from deep within. An exterior force makes its way into the current continuum of time and space. The trees, which are rising flame-like, exhibit a depth of space that is unattainable. Enlarging the tree tops
by touching the screen sends them away even further into an uncatchable distance. The unique photos are a form of access to the eternally hidden. A shining within the dark and strange realness.
The strangeness und the unknown of nature itself that cannot even be captured by the motorbike’s speed remains but a figment. A continuum that can neither be bent, recovered or made passable, figments of realness are semi-hiding in the darkness.
The screen is torn open and broken up into unrepeatable moments. Amira Fritz inhabits the darkroom like an alchemist of sorts: in this very birthplace of the picture, in whose darkness she may spend days on end, the artist creates a new sense of awe about what
lies beyond the camera and the screen.
