„pavolov’s dog“ freut sich, am Freitag den 18.11.2016 um 19:00 Misha Vallejo aus Ecuador mit seinem Buch „Al otro lado“ vorstellen zu können.
Der Fotograf nimmt uns mit auf eine Reise in die vergessenen Grenzgebiete zwischen Ecuador und Kolumbien. Er zeigt uns die Spuren von Angst, Drogen und Gewalt.
Seine Bilder geben den Vergessenen ein Gesicht und sein Buch ist ein poetischer Ort des Widerstandes gegen die Bedeutungslosigkeit. Mehr über dieses Buch, über andere
Reisen und über „Vivir Bien – das gute Leben“, darüber spricht Andreas Rost mit Misha Vallejo.
Misha Vallejo, geboren 1985 in Riobamba, Ecuador, arbeitet an der Grenze zwischen Dorkumentarfotografie und Kunst. Sein 2016 erschienendes Fotobuch „Al otro lado“ gelangte beim Festival Les Rencontres De La Photographie in Arles auf die Shortlist der 40 besten Fotobücher. 2015 gewann er den Ecuadorianischen Nationalpreis Nuevo Mariano Aguilera. Seine Arbeiten wurden auf internationalen Festivals, in Russland, Großbritannien, Israel, der Türkei and Litauen ausgestellt. Misha Vallejo arbeitet und lebt in Quito, Ecuador.

The photographer takes us on a journey in the forgotten border areas between Ecuador and Colombia. He presents us hints of fear, drugs and violence.

Misha Vallejo, born 1985 in Riobamba, Ecuador, is a photographer whose work lies on the border between documentary and art photography. In 2016 he published his first photobook „Al otro lado“ with Brazilian publishing house Editora Madalena. This publication was shortlisted as one of the best 40 author books by Les Rencontres De La Photographie festival in Arles in 2016. In 2015 he won both the Ecuadorian National Arts Prize Nuevo Mariano Aguilera 2015 gewann er den Ecuadorianischen Nationalpreis Nuevo Mariano Aguilera. His work has also been showed at several international photography festivals in Russia, UK, Israel, Turkey and Lithuania.
